When GOD Shows Himself STRONG!

Rediscovering the Power of the Atonement

Psalm 65

We're seeing an incredible explosion of intense realms of healing anointing lately. We have always seen a degree of healing in our ministry, but there's been a definite shift that has taken place, and you can tell the Lord wants His people to contend to believe for a greater "circle" of healing anointing.

In other words, He wants us to believe for an ever increasing amount of healing flow. If we've previously seen the Lord heal one person through us, He wants us to believe to see ten healed. If we've seen ten, He wants us to believe for fifty, then 100, then 200, and then eventually to believe for ALL to be healed! Come on! I mean, it's in the Bible! Listen, when Jesus ministered, ALL manner of disease was healed, and when He said ALL were healed, He meant it!

See, there's something taking place in an area of the dominion of the Kingdom and the reality of the Kingdom in the inner man of the believer because it has been given to us to be favored to possess the Kingdom, and in the Kingdom there is healing for those who are sick!

With that, there's coming a place of aggressive faith, if you would; a place where we refuse to believe the seen, and we believe the unseen to be more true than the seen. So we call forth the unseen to become seen in the name of Jesus!

I also like to call this attitude of heart violent faith, where we go hard after the things of God, refusing to allow anyone around us to cheat us out of the Truth. The Lord has put His hand on our generation "and we can take no credit for it "but He is saying to us, "I'm going to show Myself strong to you on your behalf!" Wouldn't you like for God to show Himself strong on your behalf?

Revelation Leads to Freedom and Transformation

As we see and behold Jesus, we become like Him. The purpose of encountering Jesus is greater than just for the sake of having an encounter. Any time you have an encounter with the Lord "whether it is in the Word, in your prayer closet, in a vision, in a prophetic encounter, or whatever it may be "He reveals Himself to you so that to whatever capacity He reveals Himself, you can now begin to operate out of that realm! As we behold Him, we become like Him. So if He shows Himself STRONG, He wants you to move out of His STRENGTH! He will cause you to live with an absolute confidence in the Spirit as you behold His strength! If He reveals Himself to you as the Healer, He wants you to move out of His healing virtue.

The Lord is moving on His people to go after in the church once and for all the iniquities of our father's father's fathers; it's time to just get rid of these generational iniquities so that we can walk in the true freedom He's purchased for you and me! What does true freedom look like? It looks like joy! They said that of Jesus: "Man, this guy's always happy!" He was always full of joy because He was free! I'm telling you, God is releasing revelation of the power of the blood of Jesus and of the power of the cross for the believer's life, so that we refuse to be entangled by anything anymore! Who the Son sets free is free indeed, and the Holy Spirit is revealing to us that the people of God have received the right to refuse to be bound!

God is stirring His people's hearts to believe for revelation of the power of the cross to bring permanent breakthrough in our lives for His eternal purposes. Not power for just a week, a year, or two years, but for the rest of our lives! Praise God!

What He's after is transformation of who we really are. God is dealing with mindsets by the renewing the mind, by washing us with His Word, and by setting us free with His truth. As He releases Kingdom truths through so many precious people now, there's a renewing of the mind, and we're shaking off the mentalities of who people in the past have said we are, of who we even have said we are. These false identities have bound us, but we're beginning to say, "You know what? I'm who HE says I am, and I can wake up every day and hear His thoughts towards me!" We are more than conquerors through Him! We have a future and a hope, and it's great! We've only just begun to see what God can do in and through us. As we Texans like to say, "We ain't seen nothing yet!"

Confident Prayer

I want to bring out something the Lord's been showing me out of Psalms 65. It says, "Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; and to You the vow shall be performed. O You who hears our prayers&." (v.1) God is releasing a fresh confidence to us that He hears our prayers. The answers are coming. Aren't you glad that God hears your prayers? This should bring a holy boldness in you, because according to 1 John 5:14 and Job 22, if we hear, and if we know we hear, then if we decree it, it will be established. It will be set in place! It also says that if we know we have the confidence that He hears us, He will grant us our petitions. I want to tell you, I believe the church's prayer life is about to be radically changed!

Come on, don't you want your prayer life to be changed with an increase of confidence? There's a place where we begin to live in a realm of faith that we're so aware of it that we're even careful what we ask for because He'll grant it. We want to be aware that He hears our prayers! But more than that, He answers our prayers. There's a confidence that begins to erupt within you, that if somebody says, "Would you pray for this?" then you say, "Yes, I will." And then you confidently can say, "The answer's coming!"

How many of you know that there are certain prayers you've been waiting for years to be answered, and you can know, "Hey! They're on their way." First of all, aren't you glad it's GOD who hears your prayers? Come on, He's able to do anything! ANYTHING!

Freedom in the Atonement!

As the Lord brings us into this place of living in a realm of faith that He hears and answers our prayers, He is also giving us revelation of all He has provided to us through Jesus atonement on the cross. Let's discover more of this truth by looking again at Psalm 65, beginning in verse 2: "To You all flesh will come. Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them." He promises here that He will provide atonement for our transgressions and iniquities that have "prevailed against" us.

I want you to get this because I believe there's a realm of freedom coming to the church. The Lord told me two years ago that He's jealous over the families, and He's releasing something. God is tired of His people being bound up in iniquity, or the things that are transferred to you even from your father's father's father, and you don't have to battle those anymore. This is 2007, and the number seven represents "fullness, completeness; consummation; bringing something to an end; finished; done." How many are ready to say, "I just want to be done with this generational iniquity, man!" Come on, how many just want to be done?

Listen to this in Isaiah 61:7, "Instead of your shame, you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs." I'm going to tell you, the Lord's about to bring a reversal, and where you knew shame, you're going to know double honor! Shout to the Lord and say, "Thank you, Lord, for double honor!"

Restoration of All Things Stolen

Take a look now at Psalm 103:1-5:

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is Renewed like the eagle's.

I didn't get saved until I was 34, and the moment I got saved I read Joel 2. Through that passage the Lord spoke to me, "I'll restore to you." I said, "You mean you'll restore to me?" He said, "Yes, I'll restore to you everything that was robbed from you." I said, "Well my teenage years and my young adult years were robbed from me. Restore them back." And I'm telling you, I am like 21 in the Spirit now! And I'm having fun! Have you had things robbed in your life? I'm telling you, the church is about to come into revelation of the atonement. Not only will we begin to enjoy the fullness of what He did for us on the cross, but we'll begin to minister out of that realm.

When we see people that have been living in abusive situations, we can say, "Guess what? Jesus is going to reverse it all right now!" You know why you're going to be able to preach it and share it with conviction and passion? You will because it is going to be something that's alive in your life. It's going to have authority on it! The only way you can have authority in the Kingdom is not by being an echo, but by coming into the Holy Spirit's revelation that becomes impartation that becomes demonstration in your life! Like I said earlier, this is an incredible time as the Lord is showing Himself STRONG on the church's behalf!

Freedom From Iniquities That Bind

Wouldn't you like for the Lord to deal with every iniquity that is holding you back from the fullness of what He has for your life? Exodus 34:6-7 says,

Then the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation."

Now God is talking to Moses here, and look how Moses responds: "So Moses made haste and bowed his head towards the earth and worshipped."(v.8) Do you have any family members that you have witnessed to and shared with over and over, and you have just said, "I give up." Maybe you thought, "If they ever get saved, revival's coming!" They said that about me in Gruver, TX, when I got saved! Revival came!

But look at this. Moses, acting as priest said, "So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth and worshipped. Then he said, "If now I have found grace in your sight..." See, favor and grace is more than just prosperity, you understand? How many are glad that you have grace with the King that you can go in His presence? To me, that's the greatest attribute of grace and favor. We have unlimited access to God through Christ's atonement!

But look at this: "Then he [Moses] said, "If now I have found grace in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance."(v.9) Listen, the Lord's response is, "Guess what? I'm going to do something for you." And this is what He says He's going to do: "Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you." (v.10)

How many want the Lord to take what once bound you, break it off, and now make you a marvel in the land? Come on, how many of you want to become a marvel? How many want to be a sign and a wonder? That's one of the benefits of the atonement. The blood of the Lamb has paved the way for God's people to have freedom from iniquities that have bound us. We should be under the blessing of the Lord "and also our children's children's children "until He comes, for a thousand generations! Come on, I'm sure we all want to see that?

My Life: A Marvel of God in the Land

I'm a testimony of God's liberating power! I was a third generation alcoholic. I drank because I just had to drink. Have you ever had something in your life, and you said you never wanted to do it again, but you did it anyway? That's the way I was with drinking, man.

But I tell you what, one day at the First Baptist Church of Gruver, TX, a little lady named Janet (my wife) stood up in the middle of our fifth Sunday meeting my wife is so sweet and was usually really quiet in church back then "but all of a sudden she jumped up and said, "In the name of Jesus! (In the Baptist Church!) I break off every iniquity and curse of alcoholism off my husband and my sons and my children's children's children's children's children, and they will ALWAYS serve the Lord! And then my wife just sat down. I wish we had the Kodak for that moment!

But I'm telling you the truth, before that time I had quit drinking time after time, but it was out of my own will, and I always went back to it. And when I started drinking again, it was always worse than the time before. But I'm telling you, from that day on I have never even had a desire for alcohol because who the Son sets free is free indeed!

Freedom From Roots of Iniquity

The Lord showed me He's "going after roots." He said, "I'm laying my axe to some roots.' But I love the Lord because the Lord just doesn't go after the root; He replaces it with something holy. Believe me, you want the Lord to get rid of roots in your life that are sources of unholy gates, and you want Him to replace those with gates that are plugged into the root of the "flourishing oil" of His Spirit. He wants His people to be deeply rooted in Him in that area.

So what exactly is an iniquity? It's easy to understand. Do you know what a curse is? It's something you find yourself rendered powerless against. The Lord wants His people free. The Lord's told me many times, "I love you too much to leave you in any condition but the BEST."

Do you have children? If so, would you want your children to be bound in anything? Of course you wouldn't. You would do whatever you could to get your child loosed! And the Bible says if our love for our kids is like that, it's only a small iota of the love the Father has towards us. See, you don't have to stay in chains anymore because there's somebody here by His atonement that wants to deal with every iniquity and transgression. He wants you FREE!

Divine Justice is a GOOD Thing!

Now let's look back at Psalm 65 again, beginning in verse 4: "Blessed is the man you choose and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple. By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us...." That phrase "awesome deeds in righteousness" means "acts of justice." The Lord is releasing more and more teaching and preaching about divine justice "accessing the courts of Heaven and rendering a verdict against everything that's ripping you off!

The "spirit of judgment" of God shouldn't scare us. Many of us may think, "Oh, the burning fire! The spirit of burning, the spirit of judgment! Oh my gosh!" No, you should INVITE the spirit of burning, the spirit of judgment, because He's not coming to judge you; you've already been judged, and youve been found covered in His grace and favor! You are free from guilt because of the blood of Jesus! Believers have right standing with Him through the cross, and what He wants to judge is everything in your life that is ripping you off from knowing the fullness of your inheritance in the Lord because we are a chosen generation, a holy priesthood, a peculiar people set apart for Him, invited into the Kingdom! Don't you want to live to your Kingdom fullness?

So inviting the spirit of burning or the spirit of judgment is really inviting God's holy justice to begin to deal with everything in your life that's robbing you of who you really are in Christ Jesus. I'm ready for more than just a little bit of revival; I'm ready for an AWAKENING. And the awakening that I want to see is for God's people to RISE UP into the FULLNESS of who we are in the LORD! Tell yourself right now, "You're marvelous!" He says you are!

Clothed in POWER

Look at next part in Psalm 65: "O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of the far" off seas; who established the mountains by His strength, being clothed with power&.(5b-6) It says God is "clothed with power." Remember how I said earlier that if God reveals Himself in a certain way (like His strength), then we can begin to operate in that facet of Him that we behold? Wouldn't you like to be clothed with fresh strength and power right now from God? Come on, wouldn't you like to put a new suit of dunamis (Holy Spirit's power upon you)?

Don't you like new clothes? I think we all do. My wife likes new shoes and new clothes! But wouldn't you like to be clothed with a new suit of power? You become more aware about who is with you instead of the circumstances around you. His "suit" of power fits us well! He wants us clothed with His power, and how strong is that power? WOW!

RIVERS of Harvest!

Let's keep looking at Psalm 65:7-9, "You who still the noise of the seas&." Wouldn't you like to see some seas stilled for your life? "The noise of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples. They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs; You make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice. You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water...." One of the things that the Lord showed us recently in a conference was He is releasing a fresh rain to His people right now. Don't you want a fresh rain and an enriching rain that brings forth a harvest of the wealth of Him in you? How about if He begins to water some of the seeds of the Word in you? But even better is to have the River of God begin to flow out of you! How about the River of God of harvest? The River of God is full. Not a little bitty bit, but it's what? FULL! So how does the River of God make you? That's right, His River makes us FULL! But what does a river do? A river is constantly flowing. And it's constantly flowing with what? It's constantly flowing with fullness. Our inheritance in the LORD is fullness.

So a river represents constant, continuous flow. There's a generation spoken of in the book of Zechariah who plug in to the Word and the anointing, and they begin to walk in the ceaseless, perpetual flow of the rich, flourishing oil of the Holy Spirit. Their hands literally drip with fresh oil, and they're called sons of fresh oil! Don't you want to be a son of fresh oil?

Let's keep going in Psalm 65:9-10, "You provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. You water its ridges abundantly, you settle its furrows; you make it soft with showers, you bless its growth." (v.9b-10) I'm telling you that we're about to experience the gentle rain, but next will soon come the gusher! He's watering the parched ground, breaking up the dust, and breaking up the clots, so that the tender roots can come forth. Wouldn't you like to have some fresh spring rain? Psalms 68:8 says that when God marched to Sinai, heavens opened and the rain dropped! And the word "dropped" there means "prophetic discourses." He began to speak, and when God speaks, it's like thunder and lightning! Wouldn't you like for God to speak one word over your life? How about if God speaks over your life, "Favor!"? That's a good word to hear from God!

Ezekiel 47:9 talks about the River of God, and here it talks about it coming out of the threshold of the temple. We know Jesus is our Threshold, and when He was on the cross, when He was pierced, out of His side didn't just come blood, but also there came water; blood and water. And out of the altar "Him being the carrier of the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Presence of God "and out of His side came forth blood and water. We should see this as the greatest example of Zechariah 4's admonition of "Don't despise the day of small beginnings." (v.10) What started out as a trickle out of a man's side has become a mighty River of salvation where more people are being saved now than ever in the history of the church!

I've noticed lately in our meetings that it seems easier to get people saved. Right now it's easy! Would you like for it to be easy to see people saved? Wouldn't you like for all the striving and hard labor to just cease, to where you just go, "Come!" We were in a service, and I'd given the altar call, and people were just coming. I was going, "Yeah!" And all of a sudden heaven was just ripped open! I heard it, and you know what I heard? "Yeah! Yes! Way to go Jesus! Yeah! Holy, holy, holy! Another one comes, LOOOORRRDD!" See, the church is about to know joy. In Zechariah 10:7 it says when this joy or rejoicing hits the church, even the children will hear and be glad and come in. Aren't you ready for that kind of joy to hit the church? Why don't you just ask God to hit your house like that with His joy?

In Ezekiel 47:9 it says where this River goes, it brings restoration, healing and life. Not only that, but because we're in the River, we become trees of righteousness planted by God, and the leaves "the fruit" become healing to the nations. But if you look at Ezekiel 47:9, it doesn't say a river; it says two rivers because the two rivers are the blood "the atonement" and the Holy Spirit. Without the atonement, even though you're saved "even though the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit's with you "you're still going through this constant battle of iniquities and transgressions. We need the blood of Jesus just to BREAK them off so we can know the liberty that's been given us.

Look at Psalms 65:11, "You crown the year with Your goodness...." Do you want your year to be crowned with His goodness? Ask Him for the River to flow in and out of your life right now! I'm tired of hearing and seeing certain people that can't get the breakthrough; I'm ready to see them get their breakthrough. See, if we get a revelation of the power of the blood and the power of the name of Jesus, we'll begin to see breakthrough after breakthrough in other people's lives! It will be easy for us when we get this revelation because we'll see that Jesus did all the work already for us.
